The day started with drizzle and a 35 minute bus journey to Snailbeach .

With the drizzle now stopped and weather brightening up we took a path up to Snail beach lead mine.

After a look around the mine we proceeded up some steep steps through woodland before ascending fields and tracks up to the outcrop of Stiperstones now in bright sunshine .

Lunch was taken on the rocks with excellent views all around we then carried on past Manstone rock with its trig point .

Then ascended with some dodgy rocky paths were you spent more time watching your step than the views.

We then skirted around the bottom of the hillside and a steep ascent into Stiperstones  village and a quick drink in the inn before the 1435 bus back to Shrewsbury were four of the group went for further refreshments .

Welcome Andy Howell to the club and completition of his first walk
