Olton to Marston Green 4.5 miles (10/04/24) Alternative walk

This was not the intended walk. A class 170 had a serious breakdown at Tamworth and blocked the line for most of the day. We tried to reach Andy Sear at Bingham, travelling via Leicester but even this was cancelled! So we opted for a local walk. 

We stopped for at a cafe in Olton for coffee and cakes after just 2 minutes of walking! Some canal walking, some housing estates and some following Westley Brook to the airport viewing area near Marston Green. An emergency stop was made at the 3 Horseshoes pub for ladies toilets. We all had an emergency drink from the bar, there. Excellent weather for plane spotting.
