Macclesfield to Congleton 14miles (24/08/21)

Seven brave souls set out on this 14 mile hike from Macclesfield to Congleton. It was a cloudy but warm day. We set off along the Macclesfield canal which we followed for 4 miles. Then our first of the two accents began up to Crocker Hill...Fine views from the top. It was down to and around Bosley reservoir which was running short on water. Lunch was taken here. Fields and lanes took us to our second steep accent of the day up The Cloud...It was a Sharp climb up through some dense undergrowth, really like a scene from Gorillas in the mist with some members appearing from the undergrowth. It was here where K MAGUIRE was actually attacked by a Gorilla but managed to fight it off only sustaining cuts to his arms ..It was out of The Cloud and on to the Canal before a few beers in Congleton and Stoke. A enjoyable walk by the magnificent 7 😁
