Well this year's Xmas walk wasn't battling the weather but the latest Covid wave of infectious. One or two were understandably nervous about meeting in a large group and sent their apologies.
We arrived at Warwick Parkway and awaited for another member to join us before setting off at around 1130. We walked briefly alongside the canal, before traversing an industrial estate, crossed the railway and then walked through Warwick race course into the town. Here, we walked along the castle boundary, crossed a busy road into the large park and then took a break to have lunch and share the goodies.
A nice touch was for us all to raise a glass to our recently passed member and friend, Tony Robinson.
A brief walk then along the River Avon, and then climbed up to the Grand Union canal for the last mile to the Railway Club at Leamington. A quiet, relaxing drink was then ruined by Helen, who had joined us and made us play, the After 8 mint game, pass the parcel, musical statues, head netball and Family fortunes! Oh well, there's always next year where we can finish in a library! 😃
Merry Xmas all! 🎅
