We arrived at Banbury via various trains whereby we changed for the short journey to Kings Sutton.
Setting off in unseasonally warm weather, we climbed via fields and a track out of Kings Sutton and headed via further climbing in a South Easterly direction towards the pretty Cotswold village of Charlton. After a brief stop for light refreshments, we continued along a long tarmac footpath to Newbottle Manor House and then turned towards little Astrop Hill, this being the only significant climb of the day. It was after mid day when we reached a small wooded area and here we had a longer break for those who wanted lunch. After restarting, it was only a further mile to the walks end at 1320hrs. Thankfully, after a couple of weeks of heavy rain, it remained dry and wasn't too muddy.
Most people departed back home on the 1538 service back to Birmingham.
