A good turnout today for a walk that was a lot easier than the recce. Only the one taxi turned up so we just decided to wait for him to return as It was only a few miles up the road to Kerry. It was a glorious March day, the weather had been dry for a few weeks so the under foot conditions were great. It was a steady climb mainly up lanes to Kerry ridge, and the views didn't disappoint. Around 3 miles along the ridge before our decent towards Newtown. We stopped at Wig for lunch. It was then that short sharp climb out of Wig before our final few miles and our only bit of mud in Black hill wood. Adrian shot straight off as he had work that evening, while the rest of us headed to Spoons for food and liquid refreshments. A couple more watering holes before the 18.42 service home. Which, the bag of Iceland goodies went down a treat as after beer munchies. A great walk and social after. Thanks for attending.
