Walkers present: A.Dulson, P.Cotterill, M.Simmonds, D.Chambers, A.Sear, G.Corbett and P.Freeman (7)

The first walk of 2025 was altered due to flooding originally Shardlow to Long Eaton

The walk started by walking alongside the river  Derwent hardsurfaced path to Elvaston castle and country park .

In cold frosty conditions but clear blue skies we passed through the country park but not before a look round the impressive gardens and a warm drink in the castle cafe .

Leaving the castle we took footpaths to Alvaston to return on the bus to Derby

Refreshments were taken the the Alexandra with Dave chambers buying the 7 strong group a drink as it was his birthday  the previous Wednesday

A walk that was enjoyed by all and not much flooding at all so turned out well despite being a change to the original walk

A.Dulson
