With the train on time to make the bus to the Cat&Fiddle we followed moorland paths with superb views to the Trig point on Shining Tor .
After a quick photo stop we carried on up to Cats Tor which was our lunch stop sheltering from the sunny but windy conditions
We then proceeded down onto a road before ascending then descending through woodland paths and followed a stream to Errwood hall ruins .
After a brief stop to have a drink and look round the ruins we carried on along the stream path
Well some of us Mark decided to follow the main path not realising we had gone in opposite direction so Phil and Hugh to rescue him back to the group
The path started to climb with fine views of Errwood reservoir which was extremely low in water due to recent hot spell.
At this point we came to a Junction
Which unfortunately I didn't turn left as was doing walk from memory .
I realised my mistake but after abit of consultation with Mark on his phone and my map we found a route save diverting back all though I was randomly being covered in flies why me ! So the air did get a.bit blue .
We followed a route past Goytsquarry and up past some waterfalls and a marshy area
Then a steep climb up to the path back to the Cat & Fiddle but despite our efforts to get the 1544 bus for once it was on time and missed it by a minute .
So next one hour later but the time was past by buying bottled beer and provided with plastic cup from Cat & Fiddle shop
After our bus journey some went for refreshments others went home .
A good day was had despite my slight route error which added a mile to the walk but also cut of alot of the steep ascents if we had gone planned route
Even Hugh ,Roz, Phil who did recee with me said they preferred the route we took
