BURTON on TRENT to WILLINGTON 6.5 miles (27/05/21)

I arrived at burton station 10.30 ish, only to find out that there was already a few cancelled trains, due to a 170 shortage, however the booked train arrived a little late with a voyager vice a 170 phew !! .

9 walkers headed for burton town centre, on a nice sunny morning, but a cool wind, making for the river trent and over the burton road bridge, we made in the direction of newton solney, soon we were in the countryside, crossing fields with some lively young cows in !!!.

Lunch was taken in the grounds of newton solney church, the second half of the walk was a riverside walk ending up at willington , refreshment’s/food at the Dragon.
