A re arranged date for this walk after cancellation of the original date owing to railway problems.
A fine day greeted all those arriving at Bingham for this relatively easy walk to the nearby village of Car Colston. Shortly after setting off we bumped into retired railwayman Alan Archer, who now lives in Bingham. Alan was invited to join us at the end of the walk at the local Wetherspoons.
So, off we set, through playing fields and then through a field of wheat or barley. As predicted the birds were singing and we got a good view of a Skylark. After about an hour we reached Car Colston where we had a break overlooking the cricket pitch. The next part of the walk took us around the outer edge of the village before having our lunchbreak in the churchyard.
Following lunch we walked back to Bingham via a different route. The total distance was around seven miles.
