In fine weather the group left Alsager by following the old railway line before fields took us to Dunkirk and onto a flooded passageway under the A500 .

Just after this we started our ascent up to the Wedgwood monument with fine views all around .

After a lunch stop at the monument we followed fields and lanes back to the old railway line and retraced our route back to the station .

Refreshment was had at the railway Inn before our train back returning via Crewe
