After making our way via both directions we began the walk in glorious sunshine. After a few streets it was straight into the climb up through Alderley edge wood. Lovely views taken at the top of the Manchester skyline.  It was shortly after here, we were rejoined with Phil and Mary who had caught a taxi to avoid the climb. The decent took us through the woodland before fields on towards Prestbury. Lunch was taken in our last bit of covered woodland. A great walk on a very hot 1st of May...we enjoyed beers in the Admiral Rodney at Prestbury, then several members carried on to the Blue bell at Kidsgrove, enjoying pizza and more fine ales.
