Somebody missed the train......didn't they Norah?!
So after a democratic vote, the result of which, in true parliamentary style I ignored, we waited another 40 minutes for Norah's train to get in at 1058.
After a few coffees we started the walk, leaving Parkway and heading to the benedictine abbey at Old Mucknell Farm. After a sunny start it clouded over a bit but it was perfect weather for walking. We continued through fields of yellow flowering rapeseed, over Bowbrook and wheat fields to a bridge crossing the Cotswold Line and onto the farm at Windmill Hill.
The path then led down to the Millennium Woods at Stoulton where we had a picnic lunch.
Continuing on the Millennium Way through farmland and pasture we entered Great Blaythorn Wood. The bluebells had mostly gone over but the ransomes were in full bloom and guided our way towards Wadborough.
Following Bowbrook into Deerfold Wood a cuckoo could be heard then rising to Dufty Coppice we heard the harsh bark of a deer telling us to get off his land.
After following the lane past a house guarded by a Tyranosaurus Rex we entered Drakes Broughton and onto the Plough and Harrow for refreshments and then the bus back to Parkway.
Lovely walk and lovely company as always.
