Wood End to Henley in Arden 6 miles (06/08/26)

I joined the group already on the train at my local station and then we all alighted at Wood End, the start of the walk. Weather was perfect at 20°c after recent heatwaves and we set off in sunshine and occasional cloud climbing up into Tamworth in Arden. Mostly quiet lanes and fields with bone dry vegetation were navigated with occasional patches of brambles/nettles that had to be walked through carefully.
Only 6 miles for this walk so there was no rush to finish, so a nice steady pace with good breaks were taken. (John Roberts when we  later joined him in the pub and waiting  patiently, informed us, we had walked an average speed of 2 mph!
Upon arrival at Henly in Arden , we refreshed ourselves in the beer garden of the station pub enjoying the real ales, wine and even a tub of the locally produced and famous  icecream.
