The sun was out with blue skies, but still a little chill in the air. We headed on to the old track bed which took us North up to Marple. After a section of street walking it was on to the river path which follows the river Goyt. This was the path that was closed, that I hadn't mentioned until this point. It was passable with care. We took lunch by the river before the final section up to the Peak Forest canal, which lead us to Woodley and our resting point of the Navigation public house.
