East Midlands airport perimeter walk. 3.5 miles (08/01/26)

Attendees.... Phil Cotterill, Mary Simmonds, Jason Hickling, Gary Corbett, Andy Walton, Norah Graham, Dave Chambers and Andy Sear.

We travelled by Skylink bus from Derby to East Midlands airport where we met up with Andy Sear who had travelled via Nottingham.

We were racing to keep ahead of Storm Goretti which was heading our way later.

We walked anti clockwise around the airport trail which was quite muddy and slippery in places. We had a close encounter with a Ryanair Boeing 737 which landed not far from our picnic spot. 

We cut the walk short at a bus stop near the air museum (closed today) and caught the bus to the Alex pub in Derby where birthday boy, Dave Chambers (72), bought us all a drink!!

I think we all got home before Storm Goretti did it`s best with several hours of heavy snow.
