The walk started from Acton Bridge in glorious sunshine but without Karl and Brenda who couldn't make it.

After a around a mile road walk we came to the swing bridge where we joined the banks of the river Weaver.

We followed this passing Salterford locks and onto another swing bridge where we left the river and up a slope to join the canal .

We arrived at Anderton boat lift at 1215 which gives us chance to look around the visitors centre and grab a bite to eat .

The boat trip left at 1330 taking us along the river Weaver to Northwich town swing bridge and back with most of us taking in the bird life and scenery except Dave chambers decide to have a kip .

On arrival back at the lift we then went up in the lift to the canal were we got off the boat.

The next hour or so was taking refreshments at the Stanley arms before taxis to Hartford station .

We had more refreshments in the coach house opposite the station some had food and others  going at various times for there trains back

A really warm day but enjoyed by all and something different to have boat trip included .
