We all travelled down to Warwick Parkway Station by train arriving just after 10am.
The weather nice for the time of year and plenty of autumn colours and leaves.
Starting the walk at Hatton bottom lock, the first issue was us crossing the canal via one of the lock gates.
Once we were luckily across the canal, we walked part of the famous flight of locks until the junction of Ugly Bridge Lane and then heading over to the former site of the Hatton Asylum, to view the historic buildings that still remain and repurposed into living accommodation. Stopping for a quick group photo at the old clock tower we then headed through the site in a circular motion until we rejoined the lock flight at Middle Lock Lane.
At reaching the top of the lock flight we had a short stop for sandwiches before heading over to the Hatton Arms Pub ready for opening time. Two or three pints later we the continued the last mile of the walk along the canal towpath to Hatton Station for trains home.
