MEMBERS PRESENT: K MAGUIRE, H MAGUIRE, M SADLER, D CHAMBERS, A DULSON, H JONES and R JONES (7)

We set off from Stratford Parkway station in dry weather and straight away, walked into and through a very exclusive and desirable housing estate. We then crossed the road and circumnavigated a less, but still nice housing estate before crossing the busy A46 and into fields with an assortment of stiles with various states of repair required. A short but steep ascent and a turn to the right led us back via a couple of fields to the A46. Crossing this, we followed a long bridleway and headed to the obelisk at Welcome Hills country park. Amazing views and quiet tranquility were enjoyed here whilst we had a lunch break in glorious sunshine. Upon restarting, a wrong turn was taken and we had to climb a mount inside the golf course before eventually rejoining the path back into Stratford town centre. Turned out to be just 5 miles in total. An enjoyable end of walk drink was had and we were joined by John Roberts and Mark Sadler eventually taking the plunge after an hour of deliberation and ordering a new phone SIM card!
