2x guests (24) The walk started from Kidsgrove along the Trent and Mersey canal before leaving this to follow the Macclesfield canal to Bridge 91.

After passing under a small flooded bridge ,fields and woodland paths took us to a road where we caught up by Paul & Nic

Who had missed the train at Stoke .

A narrow road took us to Mount pleasant then steep roads took us to Mow Cop castle .

We were met there by Phil Mary Ray and Polly who travelled in taxi from Kidsgrove .The walk was in memorial of Tony Robinson and Inc spreading of ashes on what would been his 75th birthday

The group listened to me reading out messages from Tonys daughters and Inc me throwing down Tonys walking poles a habit of his .

I then spread the ashes in windy conditions followed by Simon &Polly friends of Tony spreading some all so

We then headed back down to Kidsgrove via lanes and muddy fields

On arrival at Kidsgrove we took refreshment at the Bluebell Inn which has agreed to open at 3pm especially for us John Roberts met us there

Every enjoyed the real ales and food on offer before leaving for train services home

It was a grand farewell to Tony

Sure he would been overwhelmed by the turn out to say goodbye .

His family wish to thank everyone who attend this walk and his funeral

He will be sadly missed

A.Dulson
