We set off from Hagley station in glorious sunshine for this 7.5 miler that was either going to be a good thing or a bad, depending on one's tolerance to heat. Hugh wanted to go for his Bronze 'Lead a walk' badge, so off we set the wrong way! Great start! He would definitely be rubbish at Pin the Tail on the Donkey! A busy road island had to be negotiated before we left Hagley and started the ascent of the Clent hills. Fortunately, a lot of this is in shaded wooded paths. Hugh guided us to the 4 stones at the top in no time at all. Great views were to be had before decending down into Clent and then on to Broom where we had Lunch in St Peters Church grounds. Idyllic spot this was.....very tranquil.
Not far to the finish from here so after walking down lanes, we turned towards Hagley and said goodbye to the Bridges who had to go to work later in the day. The 4 remaining members carried on for refreshments where we found 'Sadler the Stalker' awaiting our arrival. 🍺🍺🍺
I enjoyed the walk as it didn't get uncomfortably hot...hope the others did too. And well done to Hugh....no map reading re examination needed. Must have had a great instructor! 😂
